Q&A with author Adam Feinstein, Members’ Choice film

Son of the Bride, a film made with love and the most effective of comedic touches by a master director, Juan Jose Campanella (The Secrets in their Eyes, Moon of Avellaneda). To make it a very special event, Adam Feinstein, acclaimed film author and Hispanist joins us for Q&A – an excellent way to round off the autumn season and break for Christmas.

Rafael (Darin) is stressed. The economy is in free fall and his restaurant business is in trouble, his father’s insistent that he re-marries Rafael’s mother even though she suffers from Alzheimer’s, Rafael’s ex-wife and daughter want more from him. Something’s got to give. An old friend re-appears and Rafael begins to see some possibilities. Campanella assembles a top cast led by one of South America’s biggest stars (Darin) to create a vastly enjoyable, sensitive film. ‘It’s fresh, funny, biting, fast-paced.’ Michael Wilmington, Chicago Tribune.
