In this moving documentary the director turns the camera on his own relationship as he and his partner prepare to become parents – their long-awaited first child. Happiness is challenged by unwelcome news and the pregnancy becomes complicated. Josh realises with brutal honesty he has some growing up to do and reflects with friends on the serious responsibilities of parenthood and, specifically, fatherhood, that await. All this set against a backdrop of contemporary London life as the couple mixes in the arty intelligentsia circles of the capital – some familiar faces appear.
‘A profoundly moving and revealing study of a life-changing event.’ (Wendy Ide, Observer).
